We had the most precious little pictures taken of Mckenzie when she was a week old. I absolutely love them! If you need a photographer she is awesome! Mary Clark - DMC Photography

Mckenzie is here!
Mckenzie is finally here! It was a long wait. I was induced 9 days after my due date. I was not going into labor on my own. I tried all the tricks to make myself go into labor.... spicy foods, running, special pizza, walking up and down the bleachers at the high school. It did nothing. She just was not ready to come yet. So on August 2nd the hospital called me at like 5:00 in the morning and told me to come in at 7:00. I took a shower and did my hair and we stopped for a bagel and smoothie at McDonalds on our way in.They started me on pitocin right away and the contractions started. They broke my water a couple hours later and then the contractions started to hurt so I got my epidural. It was way better than I was expecting. Then we just hung out in the hospital room all day. Our nurse hooked us up with a room with an awesome view! It was such a beautiful day. So we just hung out, watched some Modern Family, ate ice chips and watched my monitor go up and down every couple minute with the contractions. And I felt no pain! Nothing was really happening so we told Sean's mom to bring him some dinner around 5:00. Then we were just talking to our moms when the doctor came in to check me again. The nurse told them to go wait in the hall while the doctor checked me. And then my doctor (same doctor who delivered Sean!) said okay this is how I want you to push during the contraction. Ready go.... What?? right now? And then the nurse running around grabbing blankets and getting the bed ready and she said she wasn't going to have everything ready in time and then the doctor had me push during like 3 contractions and she was out. It was CRAZY! It happened so fast and all of the sudden and I felt no pain at all. It was AWESOME! And then they plopped my baby right on my stomach and it took a minute to get her to cry. They weighed her and wrapped her up and then I got to hold her! It was so incredible to hold her for the first time. It's such a miracle! I couldn't believe that she was actually MY baby. She was born at 7:01 PM and was 6 pounds 14 ounces and 19.5 inches long. The rest of the night was such a blur. Our moms were already there so they got to come in and meet her. And then I had to change rooms and eat dinner because i was super hungry and all our brothers and sisters were coming to see her and I had to try and feed the baby and she needed a bath. It was a crazy night with not much sleep. We had lots of visitors the next day at the hospital and then the next day we got to bring our baby home! She is such a beautiful baby! We love her so much!

Pregnancy
Being pregnant definitely has ups and downs. I absolutely LOVE feeling and watching my baby move. The best thing ever! At night Sean and I would just watch my belly move back and forth. So crazy! On the other hand, being sick and tired and not being able to sleep is not so fun. But worth it!
I had several baby showers and everyone was so nice and we got basically everything we needed and more for the baby!!
Cute diaper cake Sean's mom made for the Pike/Williams shower!
Angela threw me a shower for the Brown family!
Hailey & Brittany gave me a fun shower for friends!
And Tammy gave me a shower for ward/dance friends!
THANK YOU to everyone who helped give me such great baby showers!

Dirty Dash
Sean and his family ran the dirty dash.... a 10K through mud and various obstacles! I was VERY pregnant or I would have run with them! Next time I totally will! It was hilarious! To watch at least... It was so HOT that day. I think I got heat exhaustion or something and some ridiculous tan lines because I got splattered with mud and then sunburnt! Marcus even ran the piglet plunge. We need to make this a family tradition!
Graduation
On April 29th Sean graduated! YAY! I am so proud of him for finishing and it is so AWESOME that he is done with school! I know he agrees. It's crazy and exciting to move on to this next stage of our life! Sean got an iPad for graduation and he (WE) LOVES it!
Sean's mom and I FORCED him to walk at graduation :) It was a great day and we had a little graduation party after!

Cruise!!
Sean and I went on a cruise to Ensenada, Mexico in March! It was seriously like the best vacation ever. After we got pregnant I told Sean I wanted to go on one last vacation just us before we have kids! We drove out to Long Beach and found a cheap little motel to sleep at. When we woke up we found out that there had been those horrible tsunami/earthquakes in Japan and that it was headed to the California coast. We tried to spend the morning on the beach but everywhere we went we got kicked out to go to higher ground. Then we were worried about the cruise ship taking off but it ended up being fine and not really effecting southern California. It did get pretty bad in northern California and Oregon. We spent the Friday on the ship, Saturday in Ensenada and Sunday back on the ship. It was a party ship but we still had a blast. We had fun hanging out on the ship, eating, and going to the entertainment and comedy shows and stuff. Saturday in Mexico was so much fun! We got off the ship and started to walk into town and we found a nice taxi driver to drive us up to the blowhole at La Bufadora. Since Sean speaks spanish he was able to give us a little tour of Ensenada and tell Sean all about the city. La Bufadora was a blast! We had fun walking to the flea market and arguing with the vendors. The blowhole was really cool.... see video! Our driver then dropped us off at a restaurant for lunch. Then we just walked through town. We went past the two biggest bars in Ensenada... where the rest of our cruise ship spent the day :) They are across the street from each other and it was CRAZY! The video doesn't really capture how crazy it was. The music was so loud and there were so many people there. You should have seen the lines of cars backed up in every direction when they were all dancing in the intersection. We really had the best time! Cruises are awesome! Can't wait till we go on our next one!

It's A Girl!!
For Valentine's Day Sean surprised me and took me to get an early ultrasound to find out if we were having a boy or a girl! It was so amazing watching the baby moving around and kicking! It took awhile before the lady was positive if it was a boy or girl but she pointed at the screen and said "you see those three dots right there.... that means it's a girl!" haha Sean and I both thought she was going to say it was a boy. We were so surprised but SO excited! The ultrasound made it feel so real for me... that little baby was inside me and it was a girl! She moved around so much.
We showed our families the DVD but my parents were on a cruise so we put up a big It's a Girl sign in the kitchen for them to see when they got home. I'm so excited for our sweet little girl to come! And to get all sorts of cute clothes and flowers and bows!
